Why TÈT GRENN?
The Story of TÈT GRENN is one of the most incredible.
In Montreal, on a Friday morning, a woman called the salon of a well-known hairdresser. Identifying herself as a woman with natural, unrelaxed hair, she politely asked if he styled natural hair. In a dry tone, he replied:
“I don’t do tèt grenn!” (kinky hair).
Unbothered, the woman humbly answered:
“Oh, alright, thank you.”
Years went by. One Sunday morning, the hairdresser felt a powerful inner urge to attend the Evangelical Church he had never been to before. During the pastor’s sermon about arrogance, pride, and vanity, he suddenly remembered how he had treated that woman who had so kindly asked if he worked with natural hair. In that moment of true humility and forgiveness, the woman’s voice echoed in his heart.
It was no longer just a passing memory: it was a call. A reminder. A spiritual awakening.
The hairdresser realized he had denied the very essence of the identity of his sisters, his daughters, his people. He decided to redirect his entire mission: to restore dignity to natural, kinky, dry hair — the Tèt Grenn — and to give every woman back the pride of wearing her crown.
Our Mission
We believe that caring for your hair is honoring your identity.
For far too long, society has tried to convince us that kinky hair had to be altered with harsh, harmful chemicals in order to be accepted. We say no.
With TÈT GRENN, we give women of African descent the freedom to declare:
✨ I am beautiful.
✨ I am powerful.
✨ I am authentic.
Our products are not here to tame your hair.
They are here to set it free.
More than a brand, a movement.
Today, we proudly carry a name that, not long ago, was an insult.
TÈT GRENN has become a banner — a symbol of pride, confidence, and liberation.
TÈT GRENN – Freedom in Natural.
